Jonathan campaign debunks missing coordinator rumours

The Bauchi State
office of the GoodLuck/Sambo Campaign Organisation has said that its
coordinator, Ibrahim Umar, has not gone into hiding.

Reacting to a
recent advertorial credited to the organisation, the director, media
and publicity of the organisation, Garba Bello, who spoke at a press
conference held at the state campaign office in Bauchi yesterday,
described the allegation as baseless, void, and an “imagination of the
reporter to create an impression that there was a problem in the
organisation where none exists”.

He said Mr. Umar was on an official assignment to Abuja where he went to collect materials for the office.

Mr. Bello, who
alleged that the FCT minister, Bala Mohammed, has been engaging in
anti-party activities, said he (FCT minister) is still an active member
of the ANPP, as he is sponsoring the ACN senatorial and gubernatorial
candidates in the state.

Mr. Bello, who
quoted the FCT minister as saying in some print and electronic media
that he has no support for any PDP aspirant in the state with the
exemption of 25 per cent votes for Mr. President, pointed out that that
was a clear confirmation that he is still a strong member of the ANPP.

“To our dismay, the
Abuja-based politicians, particularly the FCT minister, claimed to
sponsor a parallel organisation that seems not to exist anywhere, nor
having any impact throughout the state.

“The only
organisation that is known in all the nooks and crannies of Bauchi
State is the GoodLuck/Sambo Campaign, Bauchi State chapter, under the
able leadership of north-east zonal campaign organisation. The FCT
minister and his cohorts have never visited the state office even
through proxy,” Mr. Bello said.

He further said,
“if any of them (Abuja-based politicians) can claim to have supported
this organisation with any kobo or any material through their proxies,
we demand to know within the quickest possible time.”
