We noticed that in this your present album you kind of derailed from what we use to know before. We realized that there is an infusion of a kind of Nigeria contemporary feel in it. Can you state why the derail in this album?

You know music is very versatile. If you want to be in the business, you must move the way things are moving. I just want my fans to know that I will give them all they want. That infusion of other genre into my music like rap, rock and what have you. I’m moving with the trend and change.

In this your album I get to understand that you have some hit tracks that should have been the title of the album. Like here you call it ‘Ban Gaskiya’ . Why Ban Gaskiya while there are other hit tracks that would have been suitable with some of the contemporary beat?

As you know, music is all about the physical and the spirit. This is how i was directed by my spirit to title it ban Gaskiya. I have a message that I want the whole world to know. I refuse to choose other tracks because to me all my songs are hits. To me it is the best title I could give to the album. And as I earlier said, I want pass across a message because of what we are experiencing in the country now like trouble, crisis. I want people to understand the importance of living.

Taking a look at the album poster, we can see that you have a different marketer. Looking at where you were, what inform your decision to finally change your marketer?

My initial intention was to stick to a single marketer that will be responsible for marketing my music .but I come to understand that marketers forgive me with my choice of words, they are not sincere. So I choose to give it to who is ready to market my music. Not minding the strength of the company, be it big or small as far it is always at alert to market my music.

Working with this new marketer, what is your relationship like looking at where you are coming from?

For now I will say so far so good. It is still going the way I’m expecting but I can change my decision in the future if possible.
Let say moving from one marketer to another, that is staying with someone, you must have build a relationship, don’t you think that constant change of marketers will possibly affect your output?
In the other way it will and in the other way it will not depending on the product you have. If you have a good song that people crave for no matter their continuous change of marketers your music doesn’t remain there. As far the music is good and it carries the message that it should, it will go. Let me tell you marketers don’t believe in so called relationship they believe in business and making money. That is all they believe in. you can now see some artistes are now introducing some marketing firm where they can manage themselves instead of given it to other marketers or distributors.

We also noticed that in your track one, Kananan and track 7 Kuzo you have someone you featured. Can you state the choice of this guy?

Yes I featured Ozee, he is yet to launch an album. My intention is to raise young talented artistes. I want to feature artistes that people don’t know them. let them know that there are hidden talents that don’t hve the opportunity for people to know them. I brought him in, because I’m popular and people can testisfyon my work. But I want us to bring in people that will move the industry when we are not there, so that people will know that we are growing we are moving forward.

I believe the audio production is over because I have the complete album with me. So how is the preparation like for the video shoot?
As at the time of this interview, I have shot five videos already. We are through with the editing. We now have the preview copy where we give it to some expert to watch and check if there is any mistake in pictures, lighting and balancing and also to see if the work will face the taste of time. But I’m trusting God that before the end of August we will surely be through with the video.

Is the audio in circulation presently?
The audio is in the market now as I said in have a new marketer known as Dedap Music which is Abuja based and it is also in collaboration with Ehbbiy Ventures LTD who are also one of the distributors and marketers based in Lagos.

So when should we be expecting the release of the videos?

By next month by God grace we will start the promo, and the video will be on air in the media. For those that have satellite dish you can watch it Kingdom Africa, Channel O, NTA AIT, MINAJ and other cool stations that we know around the glob.

We are made to understand that people criticize gospel artistes due to the quality of their music videos. What are you doing to meet up with your contemporary counterpart in good and high tech video production, talking about quality?

You know that is why this time around I refuse to allow the marketers to sponsor my videos. Even though we’ve agreed on terms, signing of contract, I refuse to allow them sponsor my video. I sponsored my videos so that it will face the taste of time. The project I’m working on now, if you are talking about the video quality, editing is one of the best. For those that know that know camera very well I used Cannon D7. Which is the most expensive camera, both in quality and output now in Nigeria. I’m working towards releasing a video that will compete favourably with any contemporary music.

Does that mean that marketers contribute to the production of low quality videos?

Marketers believe in business. They are only concern with what will make them make more money. If you allow the marketers to sponsor your videos, they are ever ready to use not more than #500,000 to #1million for the entire album which you know each video you do less than #1million is in qualitative. That’s the problem the gospel artistes are facing, you see people dancing up and down, is only a mad man will be on the street dancing. I’m not condemning our past, but what I want you to know is that if you allow marketers to continue sponsoring our videos it will contribute a lot in low quality production. I know all this tricks that is why I chose to do it in my own way.

We know that you are married…

Yes my wife just put to bed four moths ago. I’m now a father with a bouncing baby boy. I want to lay a good foundation for him so that he can grow up to take after me, if not better.

Your fans have been yearning for the release of this album. What do you think they should be expecting actions?

They should now that Lordswill is always Lordswill. I’m coming up big and heavier. Those that have the album will know that this is a regenerated Lordswill. I can rap now, sing hip hop, I’m coming out with something different. I still have my way of singing. But I want them to know that it is a regeneration thing now. We need to come up with new ideas. I want them to know that this hard work is not for me but for them.

There is this peace song that was sponsored by neighbor to neighbor and we found out that most of the gospel artistes participated and you were not there, could it mean that you were not invited or you decided not to take part?

I was not invited…had it been I was called upon to take part I will oblige defiantly. I also look up for such invitations in the future. Because the dream of an artiste is not how good you are but how people know you.
