Five people have been confirmed dead and 12 seriously injured in fresh violence in clashes between restive Muslim and Christian youths yesterday. The incident was said to have occurred at about 7p.m in Angwan Rukuba area in the northern part of Jos, Plateau State.
Confirming the incident, to the spokesman of the Special Task Force, Captain Charles Ekeocha, stated that the problem started when one Dahiru Musa was invited by an unidentified Christian male to repair his door at the Angwan Rukuba Christian quarters. He however, added that Musa was reportedly killed instead.
On hearing of his death, the Muslim youths were said to have mobilised themselves and visited a reprisal on the Christians.
