Kogi State governor-elect, Captain Idris Wada and his deputy, Arch. Abayomi Awoniyi, yesterday received their certificate of return at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, promising not to betray the mandate given to them by the people of the state.
The certificate was issued by the national commissioner in charge of Kogi, Nasarawa and Plateau, Dr Suleiman Oniyengi.
In his remark after receiving the certificate, Wada assured the people of Kogi State that the trust given to them would not be betrayed.
He further hailed INEC for doing a fantastic job at the election, even as he thanked the people of the state for voting for them.
“We want to assure you that the trust of this leadership on Yomi and I will never be betrayed. We will work very hard to uplift the fortune of Kogi State,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Dr Oniyengi noted that the integrity of the state was very vital.
He further encouraged them to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship by bringing everybody on board.
