Depleted Dolphin Worries Eguma

Dolphin coach Stanley Eguma is worried about the weakness of the team. The NPL champions will line out today in the Super Cup against Heartland in Kaduna. “We will make do with the players we presently have in camp as most of our top stars are on Christmas holidays,” Eguma told MTNFootbal.com?

Last season, Dolphin piped Sunshine Stars to win their third NPL championship. They will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Champions League. Rivers State governor Rotimi Amechi is also expected to receive the league kings next week. “The governor I can confirm to you will host Dolphin next week,” said a top government official. “I cannot disclose what reward the governor has for the players for doing the state proud but one thing I can say is that the boys will smile.”

In November, Dolphin paraded their NPL trophy in a motorcade around the city of Port Harcourt. Checks reveal that the governor plans to reward each player with a car and N1m each with officials getting a car and N5m.
Governor Amechi had honoured athletes who did the state at the last national sports festival which they hosted last week.
