Stop Dickson From Parading Himself As Candidate, Aspirant Tells Court

A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Orufa Jusline Boloubo, has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to declare the nomination of Hon. Seriake Dickson as the PDP governorship candidate for the February 11, 2012 governorship election in Bayelsa state as null and void. Boloubo named the PDP, Dickson and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as co-defendants. The PDP governorship aspirant in Bayelsa State is asking the court to stop Dickson from parading himself as the PDP’s candidate of the purported gubernatorial primary election of November 19, 2011.

The Plaintiff’s lawyer,? Rickey Tarfa (SAN), had asked the court to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from accepting Dickson’s name as the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa state.? Boloubo? also asked the court to restrain INEC from acting upon or taking any step or further step or do anything what so ever in giving effect to Dickson’s name as the winner of the purported gubernatorial primary election conducted on the? November 19, 2011 in Bayelsa state.
