Police Investigate Killing Of Ward Head In Gombe

The Police in Gombe have commenced investigations into Friday’s killing of a ward head in Gombe metropolis by gunmen.

Mr Ahmad Muhammad, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Saturday.

Muhammad said the gunmen shot dead Alhaji Bello Kagarawal, the ward head of Kagarawal area of Gombe metropolis at about 8.45 p.m. on Friday.

He said the police had yet to identify the killers but investigations were still on.

“We will not say it’s a case of armed robbery or Boko Haram because, as of now, the investigations are in progress on the matter.”

A resident of the area commended the deceased for promoting peace and progress in the area during his lifetime.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said the traditional ruler always alerted security personnel whenever there was problem in the area.
