Two people were killed?? while 23 others sustained injuries when a luxury bus crashed into a stationary truck on Lokoja-Abuja road on Thursday.
The Kogi State sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr Segun Olapade, who confirmed the incident, said it occurred at about 1 a.m. on Thursday at a spot in Crusher area of the busy highway.
He said a total number of 69 persons were in the vehicles involved in the accident.
The bus belongs to the Young Shall Grow Transport Company.
He blamed the accident on over-speeding on the part of the luxury bus driver whose identity could not be ascertained as at the time of this report.
Olapade said that the corpses of the two male casualties had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
He said all those injured?? were also being attended to in the same hospital.
