Wife Accuses Her Husband Of Being Fetish

A house wife, Mary Temitope Ogundana, has accused her husband, Jubril Ogundana of being too fetish and has constantly threatened to destroy her.

Temitope made the accusation at an Akure Customary Court on Wednesday, at the resumed hearing of a petition she filed against her husband for the dissolution of their 22-year-old marriage.

The 48-year-old civil servant told the court that she was forced to leave her matrimonial home 12 years ago because of the trouble her husband’s wife was giving her.

While praying the court to dissolve the marriage, Temitope said that her husband had more than five wives, but all of them had divorced him.

She begged the court to give her custody of the two children; 21-year-old Ganiyu Ogundana and Korede Ogundan, 17.

Temitope said that when the two children were staying with their father, their education suffered a setback as they were being used as apprentices in their father’s workshop.

She told the court that she was tired of her husband’s threat to her life even when she was no longer living in his house.

According to her, she has been paying the school fees of her children as their father refused to pay even when they were staying with him.

She said her first son Ganiyu ran away from his father’s house after his SSS 3 examinations under the pretext that he was going to seek for admission in Ilorin.

Temitayo had approached the court for the dissolution of her marriage with her husband on the grounds of intolerable behaviour, desertion for 12 years and constant threat to her life.

She also accused her husband of making life unbearable for her, uncaring, unloving, and unfriendly and had turned her children against her.

Temitayo said that nothing on earth could make her go back to the man again and appealed to the court to dissolve the marriage.

In his ruling, Chief Julius Fabinu adjourned the matter till April 14, for judgement.
