EDO 2012: Don’t Underrate Oshiomhole, Ogbemudia Warns PDP

Former Governor of defunct Bendel and Midwest states, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, at the weekend in Benin City, Edo State called on the leadership of the party at various levels to work assiduously in the task of unseating incumbent Governor Adams Oshiomhole in the forthcoming July 14, governorship election.

Dr. Ogbemudia who described Oshiomhole as a “very intelligent governor with very high intelligent quotient (I.Q),” emphasised that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) must be as sharp as a razor to achieve its goal of forming a new government in the state, warning that the incumbent governor must not be underrated.

He spoke at his residence when the leadership of the party across the state met to adopt a former two-time House of Representatives member, Hon Johnson Abulagba as the running mate to the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Major General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd).

Dr. Ogbemudia who disclosed the outcome of a research carried out in the last two weeks, said that, it revealed that, PDP would coast home smoothly to victory, because the party would garner 25 per cent of the votes from Edo North which is the home base of the incumbent governor; 70 per cent of the votes from Edo Central, which is Chief Tony Anenih’s area and 60 per cent from Edo South.
