Osun state secretariat of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)? yesterday turned into war theatre? as members of the party from Osogbo localgovernment engaged one another in a free for all .
The ACN? members? who were protesting? the decision of a leader in thelocal government Alhaji? Fatai Diekola? to impose? his candidate asthe party chairman for the local government , against the popular choice of members of the party at the? local government. But Diekola was alleged to have? stormed the state secretariat with thugs , to disrupt a peaceful protest organized by members of the party .
According to a source within the party , elders of the party have conceded? that one the leaders of the? party? in the local government Alhaji? Jimoh Ogala should produce? the party chairman for the local government and the group? agreed to present one Ibrahim Toyosi as thecandidate of the group .
Alhaji? Diekola , who was said to have benefited from the party immensely , was? said to be against Ogala? group presenting the party chairmanship and? as? such sponsored another candidate Olaiya Badmus , and insisted that , the party should accept him as the consensus candidate. He was equally alleged to have lobbied leaders of the party in the state to accept Badmus .
The group loyal to Ogala? however , decided to stage a protest at the state secretariat? of the party , the protesters who have been registering their displeasure over the plan of Alhaji Diekola to upturn popular decision allegedly sponsored? thugs to attack the protesters , and in the process about 10 people were wounded and some were also stabbed .
