Priceless Precious Steps Out In Style

Many young female Nigerians are finding their feet in the entertainment industry especially in pageantry and modelling. 21-year-old charming Precious Afolabi, a student of Federal polytechnic, Nasarawa is one of them. She spoke to ANTHONY ADA ABRAHAM on her passion.

The 5.9 ft tall, finest girl North Central, is not giving up her effort in pageantry as she has contested in various competitions like the Miss Ambassador for peace and others in recent times.

She says her love for Creative Arts and high sense of fashion is the motivating factor behind her love for the industry.

“I am creative in art, and watching some international models showcasing their talents motivated me a lot into the industry. The way models compose themselves like the MBGN 2012, Isabela AYuk is really great an inspiration to me.”

Precious who says her hobby is cooking, dancing and singing is not giving up yet as she still has a lot to offer especially to the destitutes.

“It is difficult to hear women these days say their hobbies are cooking, but I will tell you that I love cooking, singing and dancing.

I’m very creative. I love fashion and I like dressing very decent.My passion is in modeling and I love to take care of children. I contested at the last? Miss Ambassador of Peace pageant and I was among the finalist and also the finest girl in Nigeria and I’m still the Miss North-Central.”

The smiling looking Miss precious emphasized that though it is difficult combining all these together alongside studies, yet she still finds time to achieve all of them.

“I’m in my second year in? school, studying Computer Science. I also attend a fashion school and I cook. I sing.? I do attend catering school sometimes”, she says.

Precious is not only a model but also an artiste. She stressed her passion for music saying she would give the public the best of music.?

She also said that she does not want to depend on her certificate for job but rather, her creativity and ability. Her two singles are still in the works ‘I walk Closer Now’ and ‘My Help.’

“Well, I sing any song that comes across my way. But most especially gospel music. I have? demos. They are: ‘I Walk Closer Now’ and ‘My Help’. My? inspiration comes to me in different ways depending on my mood. I’m? not only depending on my school result for a job, I’m working toward my own fashion house also; I want to own a foundation where orphans can be raised and cared for.”

For what she hope to achieve in the near future, she said she want to be one of the most celebrated ‘fashionistas’ in the world.

“I want to be the most celebrated super model in the nearest future and also a fashion queen that design cloth for top models and beauty queens.”

She also has a word of advice to young aspiring ladies like herself.

“They will surely get to the top even though they may have tried several times and failed. They should be persistent and never feel inferior. Also, they should have passion in whatever you do. Don’t go into a venture because some ask you to. Do what you love and not what somebody want you to do.”
