Kano Govt Approves N5,000 As Minimum Entitlement For Pensioner

The Kano Sate Head of Service, Alhaji Umar Minjibir, has commended Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso, for approving N5,000 as minimum entitlement for pensioners in the state.

Minjibir made the commendation in Kano on Friday during the closing ceremony of the 18th Management Workshop and Examination conducted for senior officers in the state civil service.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training workshop was organised by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in collaboration with the office of the state Head of service.

Minjibir, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Alhaji Abdullahi Gezawa, stressed the need for civil servants to be more committed to their work.

“It is imperative to remind us all, the need to do more to encourage the government to come up with more worker-friendly policies and programmes,’’ he said.

The head of service said the workshop was designed to enable trainees meet essential requirements for moving to management positions.

He added that it would equip the trainees with the skills to contribute more meaningfully and effectively to their new capacities as managerial staff in various organisations.

He said the State Government would focus training on computer literacy for civil servants in 2013.
