For residents of Calabar, the Cross River State capital, the Glo Rock ‘n’ Rule concert held in the ancient city last Saturday turned out to be a talent hunt as participants in the Mr. and Miss Rock ‘n’ Rule beauty pageant segment of the concert displayed abilities that are quite uncommon in similar shows.

The talents showcased by the contestants were so astonishing that the anchors of the show, the trio of Gbenga Adeyinka, Basket Mouth and the Nollywood star, Ramsey Noah, were unanimous in their assertion that Calabar would be the future breeding ground for the nation’s entertainment industry.

The participants went the extra mile by deviating from the usual dancing and singing performed at beauty pageants, to introduce more intellectually challenging artistry such as poetry, TV presentation, African Contemporary Dance, Dance Drama and clowning, among others.

The fun-seeking crowd had a wonderful experience and this they showed as they hailed the participants now and then for displaying such uncommon talents..

The Calabar Glo Rock ‘n’ Rule concert featured a stellar cast of local and internationally acclaimed hands in the entertainment industry such as DJ Jimmy Jatt, Basket Mouth, Gbenga Adeyinka, J. Martins, Wande Coal, Flavour, Chidynma, Weird MC, the Chocolate City Boys (consisting of MI, Prince and Jesse Jags), Pelagie from Benin Republic and some of the most notable faces of Nollywood such as Chioma Chukwuka Apotha, Rita Dominic and Ramsey Noah  all Glo ambassadors.
