Nigeria Vs Argentina Referee Missing – FIFA

The controversy generated by the match between Nigeria and Argentina is yet to abate with the news that the centre referee of the encounter, Ibrahim Chaibou, a Nigerien cannot be found. It was reported that as the match was ongoing, the betting patterns in Europe changed and a select group of people started betting that five goals will be scored in the game.

With the scores at 4 – 0 in favour of Nigeria and with just a few seconds to the end of the match, Ibrahim Chaibou gave a controversial penalty to Argentina when the ball seemed to have hit a Nigerian defender in the thigh, inside the penalty box. The disappearance of Chaibou seems to add credence to the fact that there may have been some foul play even though no Nigerian has been indicted in the plot. FIFA is not investigating any Nigerian player or official. FIFA’s head of security has been reported as saying, “we do not know where Chaibou is.”

In a related development, two female teams in Liberia are under investigation after, one of the teams, Earth Angels defeated Kebe FC by 55 – 0.
