Jonathan To Visit Saudi Arabia

Vice-President Namadi Sambo yesterday told King Abdallah Abdulazeez bin-Saud of Saudi Arabia that President Goodluck Jonathan intends to pay a visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia next year.

Sambo spoke while delivering a message from Jonathan to the King, who was represented by the President of Intelligence of Saudi Arabia, Magrin bin-Abdulazeez As Saud.

The vice-president added that he was in Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj and to extend the fraternal greetings of Nigeria’s President to him.

A statement by his spokesman, Umar Sani, quoted the vice-president as informing his host of a thank you message on behalf of Nigerians to the Saudi government for the hospitality extended to the late President Umaru Yar’Adua , whose medical treatment was paid for by the Saudi government during his entire stay in the kingdom.

Responding, As Saud thanked the vice- president’s delegation for their visit which he said was a demonstration of the long-standing relationship between the two countries.

On the team of the vice president’s delegation were Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo; the Minister of Agriculture, Bukar Tijjani and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
