UN House Bombing: Mai Potiskum Urges Royal Fathers To Assist FG

The Emir of Potiskum, Alhaji Umar Ibn Bubaram yesterday condenmed the bombing of the United Nations House in Abuja, and appealed to royal fathers and heads of traditional institutions to assist the federal government in their bid to catch and punish the the perpetrators.

He also said that those calling for the removal of some security chiefs were only trying to be selfish and mischievous, adding that when it happened in developed countries like the United States of America, “they took their time in nipping the problem in the bud without much ado about which security chief should be removed.”

In a statement signed by his special adviser, Communications and Strategy, Gidado Ibrahim, Mai Potiskum said the that the Potiskum emirate considered the attack as the highest level of man’s inhumanity to man and called on fellow monarchs to contribute their quota in solving the problem.

It said: “While the attack is not such that we should shift blame and responsibility to government alone, I urge my fellow royal fathers and traditional heads to join hands in assisting the federal government in ensuring that those who chose to unleash such terror on mankind are fished out and brought to book.”

On calls for the removal of security chiefs, the emir said, “I also call on Nigerians to be patient with one another. Those calling for the removal of security chiefs in the country are saying that for their selfish interest. Instead of them to contribute their technical input for the safety of this country, all they want to do is to politicise the nation’s security. But this government, I am sure, will not give way to such calls.”
