FERMA Gets New MD, Board

The federal government has appointed Mr G.C Amuchi as the new managing director for the The Federal Road Maintenance Agency. He replaces Mallam Kabir Abdulahi who was appointed in July 2009 by Late President Umaru Yar’Adua. The government has also named new executive directors for the agency and constituted a governing board with Engr Ezekiel Olajida Adeniji as chairman.

A statement yesterday by the Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen said that President Goodluck Jonathan had approved a 7-man executive and a 13-man governing body for the agency.

Members of the executive and governing board are expected to be sworn-in on September 13, 2011. The new directors are Engr Hassan Mohammed Ibrahim for planning and engineering services; Engr S.K Danladi for operation; Engr Patrick Ikpenwa, also for operations; Engr Garba B. Mubi, road maintenance and management services; Taiwo Oladipo, Finance; and Mr. Biobarakuma W. Degi Eremienyo, for administration and human resources. Members of the governing board are Ahmed Mohammed Gusau, Air Commodore Indongesit Nkanga (Rtd), Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe- Member, Senator U.J. Yohana, Olatunji Shelle, Samuel Gwomna, Engineer (Mrs.) Mayen Adetiba, and Engineer G.C. Amuchi (Managing Director, FERMA). Others are one representative each from the ministries of works, finance and transport, a representative of the Federal Road Safety Corps and one from the National Union of Road Transport Owners Association. Barrister (Mrs.) Stella Anukam legal adviser at FERMA is to serve as secretary of the board.
