6 Governors Get Awards From Diasporean Group

Six Nigerian Governors who recently attended the Nigerian Investment opportunities organised by the Woodrow Wilson International Center-Africare Constituency for Africa
in the United States were on Monday given the exemplary leadership awards for distinguished Nigerians by the Alliance for Nigerians in the Diaspora (ANID) in Washington DC.

The awards were presented by the Nigerian Diaspora group during a town hall meeting and dinner organized on Monday evening by the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, United States of America.

Presenting the award of excellence and good governance to Governors Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Ibrahim Shehu Shema (Katsina), Liyel Imoke (Cross-River), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), and Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun States), a Board of Trustees member of the group, Chief (Mrs) Aisha Eleojo Audu-Emeje said that the Governors had demonstrated the virtues of good leaders as the leaders of their respective states.

Mrs Emeje, who was flanked by the President and Vice-President of the Alliance of Nigerians in the Diaspora (ANID), continued that the Governors should not relent in their efforts to improve the lives of the good people of their various States.

Speaking with our United States Bureau Chief shortly after receiving his award, Benue State Governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam said that his administration would continue to develop the State as he has been doing since he became the leader of the North Central State.

Mr. Suswam added that he would not fail in fulfilling all the promises he and his team made to the electorates during the election campaigns.
He however said that he was grateful to the Alliance of Nigerians in the Diaspora (ANID) for deeming it fit to monitor the activities of government in Nigeria at all levels.
