Sambo Tasks North-West Leaders Over Development Programmes

Vice President Namadi Sambo has implored governors and leaders of the North-west zone to initiate people-oriented programmes that will enhance the welfare of the citizenry.

“We must approach today’s meeting with a clear mind and conscience, to develop more pragmatic ways that will consolidate the strength of our party by embarking on people-oriented projects and programmes in each tier of government, programmes that will not only improve the lives of our people, but will banish poverty amongst them.”

Sambo, who made the call at the opening of the PDP North-West Zonal Executive meeting held at the Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kaduna, earlier paid a condolence visit to the family of former group managing director of NNPC, Ladan Shehu, who died recently in Dubai after a protracted illness.?

He said the PDP was a party that would transform Nigeria through “the provision of various infrastructural facilities such as power, water, road, bridges and other streamlined programmes such as good healthcare delivery system, education for all and provision of the good things of life,” which the people desire earnestly.

He also enjoined party bigwigs to enlighten and sensitize the people on the party’s transformation agenda to be able to reclaim their mandate as Peoples Democratic Party has recorded milestone in the Elections Petition Tribunals where the tribunals ordered for a re-election having found malpractices, irregularities and manipulations by opponents even in areas where the party has strongholds.

The PDP North-West Zonal Chairman, Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure, thanked members of the Zone for working hard to win election and ensuring stability in the zone. He highlighted that the party in the South-West Zone has the highest number of Governors, Senators, members of the House Representatives and State Houses of Assembly.

He expressed gratitude to the vice president for ensuring the success of the party in the zone, adding that as “we have accepted this leadership position we should lead by example”.

Kazaure ?sympathised with those that suffered human and material loss during the unfortunate post-election violence and called on the youths who have destroyed their membership cards and those that have attained the age of 18 years to come and register in the party.
