South-East Political Leaders’ Meeting Ends Without Communique

A one day meeting of governors and political leaders in the South East ended in Enugu yesterday without a communique.

But the chairman of the South East Governors Forum, Governor Peter Obi told reporters who besieged Enugu Government House? that the issues they discussed bordered on Igbo interest.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha told newsmen that? the meeting was successful and said that he was sure that they would synergise their capacities to ensure that they take South East to? greater height.

On the multiple bombings that reportedly claimed many lives in the country, he said it was unfortunate that Igbos and other Nigerians lost their lives.

Some of the dignitaries who were in attendance included Governor Sullivan Chime, Enugu, Governor Martin Elechi, Ebonyi, Governor Peter Obi, Anambra, Minister of Finance,? Dr Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, Secretary to the? Government of the Federation, Senator? Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Power,? Professor Bartholomew Nnaji and Deputy Speaker Of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha among others.

Governors of Abia and Imo State, Theodor Orji and Rochas respectively were? absent at the meeting that lasted for over four hours .
