Certificate Fraud: Bauchi Poly Lecturers Face Sack

Indications emerged yesterday that two lecturers of Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, might? be sacked over alleged certificate racketeering.
?

?

The lecturers, whose names could not be immediately revealed are of the general studies as well as banking and finance departments.
?

Our correspondent gathered that the accused were now helping the school in its investigation even as they struggle to exonerate themselves from the disgraceful conduct.
?

The racket was exposed when a banking and finance student (name withheld) withdrew from the school after he was alleged to have been duped of a large sum of money by the two lecturers. They had promised to?? award him good grades that would have enabled him to continue with his studies as he was faced with expulsion for poor academic performance.
?

It was learnt that the said the student slumped before the panel set-up by the management to investigate the issue on hearing the news. He later contacted the head of Department,(HOD), Aminu Abubakar, for an opportunity to repeat.
?

But the HOD instead petitioned the management against the two lecturers for threatening his life.
?

Speaking to journalists on the development, Mallam Labaran Ibrahim, registrar of the school confirmed the incident and said that management has constituted a committee to investigate the matter even as he promised that justice would be done.?
