Nine persons have been confirmed dead in different road accidents that occurred in Jattu in Estako West local council and Aduwawa in Ikpoba Okha local council of Edo State.
Six persons? reportedly died in the Aduwawa accident while three? died in the Jattu accident.
The Aduwawa accident which was said to have happened yesterday at about 8:30pm involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus marked XG 993 BEN and two Mercedes Benz trucks marked XG 210 MKA and XJ 111 USL.
Edo State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Mr. Henry Olatunji, confirmed the Aduwawa accident but said that the victims died at the hospitals they were rushed to.
Mr. Olatunji said that the six persons that died included four male and two female adults.
According to him, “No death was recorded on the spot. Six persons died at the hospitals we sent them to. Three died at Our Clinic while the remaining died at the Central hospital.”
Mr. Olatunji said it was one of the Mercedes benz truck that caused the accident.
The three persons that died in the Jattu accident were crushed to death by a trailer with registration number XP 66 AKD which had a break failure while descending the? slope
