The police have arraigned a 24-year-old man, Tunde Alade,? before the Chief Magistrates’ Court in? Ibadan for having sex with a six-year-old girl.
The News Agency of Nigeria( NAN) also reports that the prosecutor, Foluke Adedosu, told the court that Alade of Oja-Igbo area of Ibadan, had invited the victim to his room and forcibly had canal knowledge of her.
According to her, Alade’s conduct had caused considerable physical harm to the victim, through his forcible penetration of her genitals, just as the girl now suffers from persistent nightmares, resulting in a crisis in the family.
The accused, who pleaded guilty, claimed that his action was the handiwork of the devil, and pleaded for mercy.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Adesina Adam,? remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till December 7.
