President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, approved the appointment of Prof Peter Nwilo as the Surveyor General of the federation.
The president said that the appointment of? Nwilo was based on his track record as “a renowned professor of surveying? and geo-formatics at the University of Lagos”. He is also a registered member Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, a member of the American Geophysical Union and Associate member International Association of Hydrological Science among others.’’
Prof. Nwilo took over from the outgoing Surveyor General of the Federation, Austine Njepuome, after an election in which he was unanimously voted for by the members of Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).
In a statement by the Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen, ‘’the appointment takes immediate effect, and the new surveyor general is expected to assume office as soon as possible in other to start discharging his duties as the Surveyor General of the Federation’’.???
Prof. Nwilo thanked the president for this great opportunity bestowed on him to serve his nation, he promised to discharge his duties diligently as the surveyor general of the nation and also to make sure that the President’s Transformation Agenda in the sector is taken to? greater height.
