Segun Arinze Sheds Tears Over Enebeli’s Health

Recently, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Segun Arinze, shed tears when he visited ailing actor, Enebeli Elebuwa, who has been bed-ridden for sometime, no thanks to stroke.

According to reports, Segun’s tears flowed when he saw the once burly Elebuwa reduced to a shadow of himself and unable to walk, at the St. Tropez Hospital, Surulere, Lagos, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Following his visit, Arinze has mobilised his colleagues in the A-list cadre to raise funds for proper treatment and welfare of the actor.

“It is sad. I shed tears when I visited him in the hospital. I pray that God will also intervene and heal him, because we still need his wealth of experience in the industry and Nigeria at large,” Arinze said.

Elebuwa’s sickness has created more tension and fear among Nollywood practitioners, considering the rate at which prominent actors have died in the last few months.

Elebuwa, a native of Ukwani in Utagbunor local government area of Delta State, is a veteran actor, who has been in the profession for 30 years. The first soap he featured in was ‘Mirror In The Sun’ – in which he acted in the first three episodes – and his first movie was a film (celluloid) ‘Dinner with the Devil’, produced by Sanya Dosumu between 1974 and 1975. He also featured in other major films including Jab Adu’s ‘Bisi,

Daughter of the River’ and Eddie Ugboma’s ‘Oyenusi’. In all, he is best remembered for his role? in the now rested popular television drama, ‘the Village Headmaster’.
