Fashola Gives Quit Notice To Encroachers On Alma Mater

Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, yesterday ordered the immediate eviction of residents and demolition of buildings erected within the compound of his alma mater, Birth Freeman High School, located in Surulere area of the state.

The directive, when eventually it is implemented, would lead to the demolition of three churches, including the famous Peace of God Mission Church, as well as houses built by those that encroached on the large compound of the school.

Fashola who gave the order when he handed over a new block of 21 classrooms and other facilities built for the school,? told the trespasser that he would stop at nothing to ensure that every inch of land belonging to the school was recovered.

The governor added that the drainage work required to solve the constant flood encroachment during rainy seasons would necessitate the recovery of all the land space?? belonging to the school.

“Let me use this opportunity to notify all squatters or occupiers of land that belong to Birth Freeman High School that the trespass ends today, and your relocation must start henceforth as I intend to work with the Old Boys Association to reclaim and return to the school every inch of land that used to belong to her,” the governor declared.
