Youth Restiveness Caused By Poverty, Unemployment – Emir

The emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Usman, has attributed youth restiveness to poverty and the alarming rate of unemployment in the country.

Speaking in Katsina on Monday when he received the Katsina State Committee on Youth Restiveness and Unemployment, the emir urged governments at all levels to address the twin issues of poverty and unemployment.

He enjoined government to invest in and revive sporting
Activities, as according to him, that would engage the youths and reduce social vices in the society.

The royal father also stressed the need for government to establish more dams and rehabilitate existing ones “so as to encourage youths to engage in farming and other agricultural ventures.”

Earlier, chairman of the committee, Garba Shehu Matazu, who is the special adviser on higher education to Governor Shema, had appealed for the support of royal fathers in addressing the menace of youth restiveness.
