Sylva Dares PDP Again, Insists On Contesting On Party Ticket

Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva yesterday threw open another battle line with the Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as he insisted on contesting the February 2012 governorship election on the platform of the PDP.

He said that the issues regarding his disqualification were challenges designed to put the State on the path of lawlessness.

Some PDP members loyal to Sylva led by his Former Special Adviser on Political Matter, Chief Goerge Fente, have commenced meetings and mobilisation for a public declaration.? Already, Fente, according to party sources, has taken over the 2011 Presidential campaign office of Jonathan/ Sambo with the intention of using same for the realisation of the dream of Governor Sylva.

PDP, it may be recalled, has through its primaries, chosen Hon Seriake Dickson as the Flag bearer of the Party for the 2012 poll.

A statement from the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Doifie Ola confirmed the report to LEADERSHIP and said that the Bayelsa Governor was set to open his campaign office on Wednesday and assured the people of the State of the commitment of the present administration to growth and peace.
