A man, Innocent Eze, 35, has been arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 12-year–old primary school pupil.
The victim has been discharged from General Hospital, Ijan Ekiti, where she was treated for? injuries she sustained in her genitals. The primary six pupil of St Silas Primary School in Ijan Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government of the state, lives with her grandmother in the community.
Narrating her ordeal to newsmen yesterday in Ado Ekiti, the victim said she went to the neighborhood to fetch water from the well when she was stopped by Eze, lured her to his place and stuffed her mouth with a rag to prevent her from crying out.
She disclosed that the development adversely affected her health as she has been experiencing pains in her stomach.
“After he finished, I was bleeding profusely and he then gave me N100 to buy drugs and fled. When I could not lift my body from that spot where he raped me, the younger brother to Eze’s landlord, Mr. Abdul Abu, saw me and raised the alarm.”
Innocent, who is a lumberman, is now in police net of Police at Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital. Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, could not immediately confirm the incident.
