Nigeria’s History Incomplete Without Ojukwu – First Lady

The first lady and wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, has declared that the history of Nigeria would never be complete without the late leader of secessionist Biafra Republic, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

Mrs. Jonathan, who stated this yesterday in Enugu when she paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late Igbo leader, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, described Ojukwu as a lover of democracy.

According to her, the late Igbo icon supported her husband when he was campaigning for the presidency of the country, adding that Ojukwu’s moral, intellectual and political capabilities were a source of inspiration to the Igbos and Nigeria as a whole.

“EzeIgbogburu, your courage, fortitude and vision are worthy of emulation. You made your mark as a well educated soldier and it is commendable that you were willing to share your knowledge and ideas. You served your community and, indeed, Nigeria very well. Your moral , Intellectual and political capabilities were a source of inspiration to the Igbos and the people of Nigeria as a whole . You were a gallant soldier and a political Icon,” she said of the deceased.

In his remark, Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, thanked the first lady and her husband for their concern and support when Ojukwu was hospitalized.

Obi, who is also the Chairman of the South East Governor’ Forum, pledged that the late Igbo leader would be given a befitting burial.
