Rep Faults FG’s Insistence On Subsidy Removal

A member representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Lanre Odubote has said that it is wrong for President Goodluck Jonathan to insist on the removal of fuel subsidy.

He made this charge in Lagos while speaking with newsmen at Lagos State House of Assembly.

The federal legislator said, “ the president has not told the federal lawmakers how the 2012 budget would be financed and that the time is wrong to remove fuel subsidy.”

He also stated that it was normal for the incumbent government to fight the opposition, but that there was no way the opposition could be silenced.

Odubote therefore advised President Jonathan to discard the issue of fuel subsidy and improve infrastructure and refineries in the State.
