The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 6, Calabar Command, Alhaji Saidu Daya, said the command was working round the clock to ensure that all its State commands practice the profession in line with the principle and procedures of community policing.
?

He said that they could do this by incorporating the members of the Zone and State Police Community Relations Committee in intelligence and information gathering.
?

Daya who disclosed this during a visit to Governor Liyel Imoke, in his office stated that officers and men under the zone would be retrained and reoriented in order to upgrade the standard of their performance professionally.
?

However, he warned that matters that border on extortions, unnecessary and prolonged detention of suspects by police would be severely dealt with while indulgence in civil and land matters by policemen would no longer be tolerated and would also attract severe consequences to the policemen involved.
