Sapele Explosion Not Revenge Over Madalla – Kuchi

The Minister of state for Niger Delta, Hajiya Zainab Kuchi, has said that the bomb explosion on an Islamic School in Sapele, Dalta State which followed after the explosion at St Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla was not an attack to revenge the bomb blast in Madalla.

The Minister who paid a visit to the church and the Emir of Suleja to commiserate with the people on the bomb blast in her home state, called on people to remain calm and be patient with the federal government to solve the problem of incessant bomb blasts in the country.

Hajiya Kuchi said that the spate of bomb blasts in the country was not religious but the handiwork of those bent on disrupting the peace of the nation.

She posited that the security challenges in? the country was purely acts of destruction aimed at destabilising the country and the perpetrators chose Maddalla because they knew that Abuja could not be easily attacked as they did in the past.

The Minister said the government would not relent in its effort to bring the perpetrators and their sponsors?? to book, as there was no way government would fold its arms to allow innocent citizens being maimed and killed.

She disagreed with the notion that the attacks were borne out of economic hardship, pointing out that there were more economically-backward countries than Nigeria in Africa whose citizens have not resorted to violence.

Kuchi, who was visibly touched by what she saw in the church, presented the church an undisclosed amount of money which was given to the Parish Priest Rev. Father, Isaac Achi for the victims of the bomb blast.
