The Sokoto State government yesterday proposed a budget of? over N 100.8billion for the 2012? fiscal year .
Governor? Aliyu Wamakko, who presented the budget proposal to the stateHouse of Assembly at a ceremony in Sokoto, said that the budget, tagged , ‘’ Budget of Renewed Commitment ,’’ had N33.9 billion as recurrent expenditure and N 66.9 billion for capital programmes.
The governor said that statutory allocation would account for N36.15 billion , VAT , N 8.33 billion , IGR , N14.9 billion andrevenue from federal government accounts for over N 10.5 billion ,among others .
According to the governor, the general administration sector got the highest allocation of over N 16.74 billion.
The state government had budgeted over N 76.78 billion for the outgoing 2011 year, out of which? over N 29.9 billion and N 44.2 billion were for recurrent and capital expenditures respectively .
