One of the thugs suspected to have invaded Media Trust’s Kano regional office allegedly to set the complex ablaze was yesterday arraigned before a Kano magistrate’s court. The firm publishes the national daily, Daily Trust.

A news report, which Kano State Government was reportedly opposed to and was published in the last Wednesday’s edition of the newspaper, was said to have triggered the attacked.

The suspect, Aminu Haruna, was arraigned before the court by Police Inspector Bashir Abubakar on a four-count charge of mischief by fire, criminal conspiracy, assault and criminal trespass before Magistrate Aisha Mahmud of magistrate’s court 13 in No-Man’s-Land area of Kano metropolis.

Prosecutor Abubakar, who opposed to granting the suspect bail as requested by his lawyer, Hafiz Abdullahi Bichi, because the police are yet to complete their investigation on the matter, told the court that the other suspects are at large.
