Kwankwaso, Bayero, Kano Residents Offer Prayers

A special prayer for continued peaceful co-existence in Kano was offered yesterday at the City Central Mosque.
The prayer session was attended by Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, top government officials, eminent scholars and businessmen, among others.

After the session, the Emir stressed the need for all Nigerians to continue praying for peace at all times.

Earlier, Kwankwaso had urged Kano indigenes and residents to observe prayers before going to their places of work.

In a statement, the state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Umar Shehu, said the resumption time for civil servants was extended to 11am tomorrow to enable them to perform the prayers.

The statement, issued by the Public Relations Officer in the office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Mustapha Ibrahim, said that prayers would also be offered in all Mosques on Friday.

Meanwhile, soldiers and policemen have blocked parts of some streets leading to police divisions in Kano metropolis as part of security measures to ward off people from the stations.
