The former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has said? that sacking the former Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mr.Hafiz? Ringim will not? solve the problem of insecurity in the country.
Balarabe in his reaction to the sack of Ringim told LEADERSHIP that, even if the problem of insecurity were tackled, other problems bedeviling the country also need to be addressed for any meaningful development to take place.
According to the elder statesman, “the sacking of the Inspector General of Police will certainly not solve the problem, insecurity is not the only problem of the country, and insecurity is just part of the problems”.
He said, corruption among other issues caused the insecurity and as such, corruption should? be tackled regardless of whoever is involved, for security of lives and property to be sustained in the country.
“The major problem of the country is the negative state of governance, in particular the inability of the government to? address corruption. So if you solve the problem of insecurity, the country will still be faced with other problems such as poverty and inequality,” Balarabe stated.
He said government should identify the root cause of the Boko Haram activities and tackle it with?? sincerity.
