Court Orders Arrest Of PDP Chairman

For? failing? to appear before to answer? contempt charges preferred against them by the executive of the Ogun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic? Party (PDP) a Federal High Court? in Lagos has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the? PDP acting National Chairman,Abdulahi Baraje,. the Party’s (PDP) National Vice Chairman, Southwest, Tajudeen Oladipo , National Legal Adviser, Olusola Oke and its National Organising Secretary, Uche Secondus.

Justice Charles Archibong? gave the order at the resumed? hearing of the matter? yesterday and also declared the Dayo-Soremi-led executive as the authentic PDP executive in Ogun state.

The judge had on Monday?? summoned? Baraje, Oladipo, Oke? and some factional leaders of the party in Ogun State to appear before it in respect of a contempt proceedings brought against them following argument by their lawyers, Olajide Ajana and Gani Bello that the alleged contemnors were not served copies of a motion seeking their committal to prison for allegedly violating the court’s orders.

He filed a notice of a stay of execution of the order on the ground that the application of which the contempt proceedings was based? was incompetent.

The counsel also argued that there was a pending appeal on the matter and therefore, enjoined the court not to take any step that would affect the outcome of the appeal as the court would have nothing to loss if the appeal fails.
