Kano Bombings Not Targeted At Any Tribe – Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has stated that the bombings in the city of Kano, Kano state was not targeted at the Igbo, Yoruba or the Hausa ethnic groups but a brutal terrorist action perpetrated by a faceless and wicked group.

The governor stated this while speaking to newsmen at the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, on his arrival from Kano where he had gone to commiserate with the people and government of Kano state and to assure the Igbo living in the state on their safety.

According to Owelle Okorocha, the bombings were a great carnage that devastated the city of Kano and claimed several lives and was prompted by the anger of the group whom he described as being heartless and brutal.

He added that his interaction with the people of Kano revealed that Boko Haram that claimed responsibility for the mayhem had asked the government in Kano state to release its members in the custody of security agencies.

The Imo governor also met with Igbo pulse and re-assured them of the safety of their lives and property.

He added that when he met with Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in Kano Government House, he condoled with him on the great loss in his domain while the latter assured him that every security details were stationed to guard against the repeat of the ugly incidence and also guaranteed the safety of the Igbo.

Governor Okorocha also disclosed that he would visit other troubled areas in Northen Nigeria, especially Bauchi and Borno states.

He enjoined every militant group in the country to sheath their swords, and support President Goodluck Jonathan in his efforts to build a better and prosperous Nigeria.
