Soba Constituency Elections Inconclusive – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that Saturday election in Soba Federal constituency of Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State was inconclusive and a concluding part of the election in 49 polling units of the 214 polling units is to hold Thursday, 9th February, 2012.

The returning officer, Mr Dauda Ishaya announced the suspension of elections in the 49 polling units while briefing officials of the parties and security agents shortly after collation of results at the INEC office, Maigana.

But the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Yaro Cocacola addressing newsmen in Kaduna yesterday said, the entire election was marred with irregularities and called for the cancellation of the entire election.

It would be recalled that the election of Abubakar Musa of the CPC who was earlier declared winner against Barrister Ibrahim Khalid of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by INEC was nullified by the election Tribunal and a fresh election was ordered.
