Erring Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State have been granted pardon by the party.
The chairman of the party in the area, Chief Okafor Chiejima told newsmen at the weekend that the party granted pardon? to all members who? indulged in anti-party activities during the last general elections adding that those who completed their various terms of suspension as imposed by the disciplinary committee were also pardoned.
While disclosing that the pardon was with exception of any person or group whose cases were still in court, the chairman said the decision to pardon them was with a view to bringing peace to the party.
On the issue of? decamped party members who want to return to the party, Chief Chiejima explained that as stipulated by the party’s constitution, such persons should go back to their various wards and declare formally for the party adding that sending letters of their intention to return to the party to the local government area chapter, without going back to their wards to formalize it cannot be acceptable.
