Six persons have so far been arrested by the police in Sokoto for alleged violence during Saturday's governorship election in Sokoto state.

The Commissioner of police in the state, Alhaji Adisa Bolanta, disclosed this to newsmen in Sokoto on Saturday.

Bolanta also said two others were arrested for allegedly smoking Indian hemp.

He said the command has also sent reinforcement to Mil Goma in Boding LGA where the electoral process was disrupted by hoodlums.

NAN correspondents report that trouble started in the village when one of the political party stalwarts objected to the sequence of voting arranged by electoral officials.

Following the stalemate voting was delayed and as at the time our correspondents left the village at 4.45 p.m. voting had not taken place.
