N140m Fraud: Businessman Wants Court to Quash Charges

Chief Executive Officer of A.G Moeller Limited, Mr. Kemi Adeloye, who is standing trial at a Federal High Court in Lagos alongside his company for fraud has filed a motion seeking to quash the charges.

Justice Okechukwu Okeke had earlier ordered that Adeloye be remanded in prison custody pending the hearing of his bail application after he had pleaded not guilty to a five -count charge slammed against him. The businessman is alleged to have indulged in an illegal transaction of about N14O million without a valid licence by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Adeloye and his company were are facing a five-count charge by the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
