The Rivers State Government will on Thursday, hold a public Lecture in honour of the late IkembaNnewi, Dim ChukwuemekaOdumegwuOjukwu, as part of the activities leading to his final funeral rites.
The state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr WorguBoms,? who represents Governor RotimiAmaechi in the Central Planning Committee for Ojukwu’s burial, made the disclosure yesterday during a media briefing at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Expected at the lecture are the Governors of the former Eastern Region comprising today Rivers, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Cross River, AkwaIbom, Ebonyi, Anambra and Bayelsa states? just as the lecture will be delivered by former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief AuduOgbeh. The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief OnuezeOkocha,will also deliver a paper.
Eulogising the late Dim Ojukwu, Bomsdescribed him as “a man of high political esteem”, that would be greatly missed by the people of the former Eastern Region.
