Police Recover Bodies Of 5 Slain Colleagues — Spokesman

The police in Bayelsa have recovered the bodies of five policemen killed by unknown gunmen on the Nembe Waterway on March 1.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Eguavon Emokpai, said in Yenagoa on Tuesday that the remains of the five cops had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Mortuary in Yenagoa.

Emokpai told the News Agency of Nigeria (NaN) that the policemen were shot at a marine police post along Nembe waterway by unknown gunmen.

He said that the policemen were shot same day that four soldiers were also killed along Ogbia-Brass Waterway.

The police spokesman, however, said that no arrest had been made in connection with the killing.

He added that the command had intensified investigation on the incident. (NAN)
