Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra has called on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by living a life of service and love toward their neighbours.
Obi made the call on Saturday in Onitsha, Anambra, in his Easter message to the people of the State.
“The celebration of Easter reminds us (Christians) of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which forms the basis of Christianity.
“As we celebrate this year’s Easter, we are called to emulate the virtues of Christ, which teaches us the importance of the life of service and love to our neighbours.
“May this celebration bring our people closer in the spirit of love and understanding,’’ he said.
The governor, however, urged Christians to pray in a “special way’’ for continued peace in Anambra and the nation.
“We should not forget to give thanks to God for His many blessings to us as individuals, society, state and country,’’ he said.
