Nigerians To Consume N600b Wireless Broadband Service By 2015 – Ovia

The founder of Visafone Communication Limited, Jim Ovia, has said that Nigerians will be expending wireless broadband services worth N600 billion come 2015 even as he said aggressive internet penetration was the future of the country for economy growth.

Jim Ovia, who was represented by the MD/CEO,? Mr. SaileshIyer, said this in Abuja at the award ceremony for top Visafone partners. He said he would continue to collaborate with them closely towards delivering unmatched mobile broadband experience.

He also said that visafone was declared Nigeria’s number one network, on the quality of service provided, by NCC for the year 2011 amongst all mobile networks. He hinted that though he relished the joy of the successes in the last four years, “they must also be prepared to strive harder to consolidate their position as they enter a critical phase of their journey.

“I believe that? aggressive internet penetration will lead to economic growth in Nigeria and that it is the future and we will drive this by investing in the infrastructure ahead of time to reap the benefits.

“It is estimated that by 2015 Nigerians would be using wireless broadband services worth N600 billion besides having 70 million internet users.

“As our future growth strategy, we will also be deploying the long term evolution (LTE) technology as soon as the infrastructure and other resources are available to keep us at par with the global competitive environment.

“It is remarkable that Visafone has been declared first in the defined parameters of service namely; Call Set up Success Rate (CSSR), Traffic Channel Congestion (TCHCon), Call Completion Rate (CCR),” he stated.
