Rampaging cultists in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta Stat, has allegedly killed a carpenter identified as Smart (surname withheld).
Reports said the victim before the incident was a well known carpenter in the community and was on motorcycle that developed fault when the cultists allegedly swooped on him to take his life.
Expectedly, cult related activities have thrived hard in Ibusa and its environs as security agents have constantly raided some of their hideouts.
Our informed sources said the carpenter died following several deep machete cuts inflicted on him and before he was taken to a nearby hospital by sympathizers he gave up the ghost.
Unconfirmed sources said last Tuesday, same cultists reportedly “cut down” a couple who was said to have been returning from a birthday party within the community.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered that Eiye and Ake Confraternities are the major cult groups allegedly terrorizing residents of the community especially non members who are often used as sacrificed lamps.
At nightfall, Ibusa community is reportedly enveloped in ominous signs in fear of the unknown as strange noises are accompanied.
Police spokesman in the state, Mr. Charles Muka who confirmed the incident, however said the police are on top of the situation with a view to bringing to book those behind the act.
