5 Men In Court For Allegedly Stealing Women’s Hair Extensions

Two men, Emeka Ohaneri (26), Ngwu Amaechi (22), who allegedly stole 24,850 bundles of weave-on hair attachments, worth N20.8 million, were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

Three others, John Onwura (21), Agobo Charles (24) and Okechukwu Ozoragu (22), were also arraigned for conspiracy.

All the five defendants of no fixed addresses, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.

The prosecution, Clara Olagbayi, said the accused allegedly committed the offences on March 3, 2012 at about 4 p.m. at Agulu Crescent, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the accused broke into the warehouse and stole the goods belonging to one Mr Ben Okoye.

She said the offences contravened Sections 285 (7) and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

Chief Magistrate Oluyemisi Adelaja granted Ohaneri and Amaechi bail in the sum of N2 million each and two sureties in like sum.

The other three accused, Onwura, Charles and Ozoragu, who allegedly conspired with Ohaneri and Amaechi, were granted bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned further hearing in the case till May 7.
